Fundraiser For Breast Cancer Awareness Month
“A 100 Candles for a Cure”
Green Daffodil Fundraiser for The Pink Fund for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Green Daffodil Studio in Ferndale, Michigan is planning a fundraiser for The Pink Fund with a handmade soy candle called “100 Candles for a Cure”. They hope to sell a 100 of these special 8oz. candles in the month of October, with $5.00 donated from each candle sold. Their goal is to raise $500 to help someone currently battling breast cancer pay their monthly bills.

These special candles, which are the scent of the tropics (think coconut, pineapple, and tropical breezes, a vacation in a tin), will be available for $12 at their store Green Daffodil Studio in Ferndale and Yellow Door Art Market in Berkley, throughout the month of October. They will also have them at the Crazy Sexy Pink Fund Luncheon at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester on October 1, Liberty Local show at the Ann Arbor Art Center in Ann Arbor on October 8 and 9th, and a private home show thrown by a breast cancer survivor at the end of the month.

Green Daffodil hand-makes soy candles, soy lip balm and natural soap at their studio in Ferndale. They have been in business for over four years and are just a two woman team. As a local Metro Detroit cottage industry, they want to make their charitable donations locally, giving back to the community that has helped them grow. They realized they wouldn’t be able to raise the type of funding to make a difference in research, so being able to help out one or two patients for a month seemed noble enough. This is where The Pink Fund comes in. They are a Michigan-based charity that bridges the gap by making direct bill payments for breast cancer patients in active treatment who have lost all or a portion of their income due to their treatment regiment.
